Alongside her coursework, Sofia has been involved in a range of hands-on projects and student roles that reflect her interest in applied engineering and design. She has worked on team-based projects focused on accessibility, biomechanics, and assistive devices, gaining experience with CAD, prototyping, and iterative problem-solving. Along with technical work, she is working in an interdisciplinary entrepreneurial team to discover the intricacies of identifying a problem, developing a customer-based solution, and managing a prospective startup. These experiences have strengthened her interest in translating technical ideas into thoughtful, real-world solutions in team based environments.

Outside the classroom, Sofia has taken on leadership and campus roles that emphasize collaboration, communication, and responsibility. Through student organizations, research, and work experiences, she has developed a practical, people-oriented approach to engineering — one that continues to shape her interest in human-centered design, process organization, and product development.
